ℶ 记号是表达超限基数的记号，指一系列形如 [math]\displaystyle{ \beta_n }[/math] 的基数。其中 ℶ₀ 表示第一个超限基数，也就是和自然数集的势相等的基数，同 ℵ₀ 。然后每一个 [math]\displaystyle{ \beth_n }[/math] 都代表前一个超限基数的幂集基数对应的超限基数，即 [math]\displaystyle{ \beth_{n+1} = 2^{\beth_n} }[/math] 。这个形式的基数 [math]\displaystyle{ \beth_0,\beth_1,\cdots }[/math] 统称为 ℶ 数。
