单位群(unit group)指环中所有单位关于环中的乘法所构成的群。
定义
对环 [math]\displaystyle{ \langle R,+,\cdot \rangle }[/math] ，所有单位关于环中乘法构成一个群，称为环 [math]\displaystyle{ R }[/math] 的单位群(unit group)，记作 [math]\displaystyle{ R^\times }[/math] 或 [math]\displaystyle{ R^* }[/math] 。
性质
单位群中的幺元是群幺元。
非平凡群中，环零元、零因子都不会是单位，因此永远不会出现在单位群里。
