代数系统(algebraic structure)，简称代数，指装备了一些封闭运算的集合。
大部分情况下，抽象地说明代数系统时，需要抽象地说明运算，因此系统中会引入一些公理。
定义
对非空集合 [math]\displaystyle{ A }[/math] ，以及若干 [math]\displaystyle{ A }[/math] 上的运算 [math]\displaystyle{ \bullet_1, \dots, \bullet_n }[/math] 、特殊元 [math]\displaystyle{ a_1,\dots,a_n }[/math] 所组成的元组 [math]\displaystyle{ \langle A, \bullet_1, \dots, \bullet_n, a_1, \dots, a_n \rangle }[/math] 称为一个代数系统(algebraic system)/代数结构(algebraic structure)，简称代数，记作 [math]\displaystyle{ \langle A, \bullet_1, \dots, \bullet_n, a_1, \dots, a_n \rangle }[/math] 。
