ℵ 记号是表达超限基数的记号，指一系列形如 [math]\displaystyle{ \aleph_n }[/math] 的基数。其中 ℵ₀ 表示第一个超限基数，也就是和自然数集的势相等的基数。然后每一个 [math]\displaystyle{ \aleph_n }[/math] 都代表比前一个超限基数 [math]\displaystyle{ \aleph_{n-1} }[/math] 更大的下一个超限基数，中间不存在其他的基数。这个形式的基数 [math]\displaystyle{ \aleph_0,\aleph_1,\cdots }[/math] 统称为 ℵ 数/阿列夫数。
