真值函数(truth function)指从真值到真值的映射。 对一个逻辑联结词，若其构成的复合命题的真值只取决于子命题的真值，称其是真值函数的(truth-functional)。 此时其表述了从一个或多个真值到一个真值的确定的对应关系，且这种对应关系可以通过一个真值表描述。

当一个逻辑体系中的命题是真假二值的，且所有逻辑联结词都是真值函数，这一体系中的复合命题就都是真值函数。 如经典的分类:命题逻辑是一种真值函数的逻辑。
